The Organizing Committee has the honour to invite you to participate in the international conference Olbian Forum 2012: “Strategies of Ukraine in Geopolitical Space”, which will be held on June 6-10, 2012 (Sevastopol, Crimea Ukraine).

Objectives of the Forum

Redefinition of the role of Ukrainian universities in the modern world and determination of innovative functions of the Ukrainian University Association from the perspective of academic freedom, university autonomy, science, and education for sustainable development will contribute to identification of geopolitical development strategies of Ukraine in the following areas:

  1. Academic freedom, university autonomy, science and education for sustainable development.

  2. Geopolitical challenges of Ukraine: political and sociological aspects, international, regional and national (local) experiences, resources for social and economic development.

  3. IT in the context of social development.

  4. Language and cultural policies.

  5. Modern legal science.

  6. Public Administration during political and economic crisis in Ukraine.

Simultaneous translation from European languages into Ukrainian and English is provided

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • The First Call for Papers – no later than March 3, 2012

  • Submission of Registration Forms – no later than April 16, 2012

  • The Second Call for Papers – no later than April 23, 2012

  • Presentations of proposals and comments– no later than May 14, 2012

  • Presentation of texts of the articles and summaries – no later than April 23, 2012

  • Sending individual invitations (by request) – from May 16, 2012

  • Arrival and registration of the participants starts on June 6, 2012 at 7:30 a.m.

  • Start on June 6, 2012 at 9:30 a.m.

PRESENTATION TIME LIMIT

Plenary report – for 30 minutes

Report – 8-10 minutes

Speech – 5-7 minutes

Discussion – no more than 5 minutes

PAYMENT

For participants in the forum the fee makes UAH 300; fee for the accompanying person (if any, it should be expressly stated in the application form) – UAH 100.

The fee covers:

  • Publication in a journal, which is included in the SCC list of Ukraine (series: economical, pedagogical, historical, political sciences, ecology, ethnogeny safety, modern philology, philology and linguistics, computer technologies, sociology, “Ukrainian Law”, “Tribology problems”, “Historic archives” issues of computing mechanics and strength of constructions, methods of solution of the applied problems of the deformed solids, tribology) and collected (parts: philology and literary criticism, law);

  • Program of the conference and additional materials.

Hotel accommodation for participants is UAH 1000 and includes:

  • Three meals per day (the price set by Sevastopol Institute of Banking on January 1, 2012. It may be slightly modified to the time of the Conference).

Total fee for participants is UAH 1200.

For each accompanying persons the total fee will make UAH 1000 with standard accommodation.

NB:

  • It is necessary that you have a copy of your payment receipt at the time of Conference participants’ registration;

  • In case of absence of a conference participant for the reasons independent of the Organizing Committee, the conference fee is not refundable;

  • The contract will be sent to the prospective participants after the Organizing Committee have received the application form for participation in the Conference;

  • The Organizing Committee does not cover or reimburse Conference participants’ travel expenses.

Conference fees are payable in cash during the first day of the Conference.

The participant should receive: Conference agenda (booklet), copy of the journal “Naukovi zapysky”, university brochures and additional information materials.

PUBLICATION OF ARTICLES

The edition of the scientific and methodical journal “Scientific works” in the following series: economy, political sciences, history, pedagogy, ecology, technogenic safety, computer sciences, philology, linguistics, sociology, will be carried out in accordance with the requirements of SCC of Ukraine (article 7 of the Decision of Presidium of the Supreme Certifying Commission of Ukraine dd 2/10/1999 1-02/3; bulletin of SCC of Ukraine, 2000, #2. pp. 61-62; Decision of Presidium of SCC of Ukraine dd 1/15/2003 #7-05/1) and series: law, philology, literary criticism or in professional publications “Modern philology”. “Ukrainian Law”, “Tribology issues”, “Issues of computing mechanics and strength of constructions” and “Methods of solution of the applied problems of the deformated solids”. Scientific articles must contain the following elements: overview of the issue in focus in general and in connection with other important scientific or practical issues; the analysis of the latest research works and publications which discuss this issue and which the author uses as references; distinction of parts of the general issue that were not discussed earlier and to which the article is devoted; formulation of purposes of the article (statement of purpose); statement of the basic research material with full substantiations of the received scientific results; conclusions of the research and prospects for further investigations in the selected direction.

Scholars, educators, competitors, and foreign scholars are invited to publish their works in the journal. The article is to be sent to the editorial board of the journal on e-mail or on a floppy disk (the name of a file - a transliteration of a surname of the author in Latin letters) together with one hard copies. Requirements to the paper format are as follows:

  • Print format А4, font set - Times New Roman; font size - 12; interval - 1,5;

  • electronic variant in the Word text editor on a floppy disk; and also, a photo of the author/authors and a short resume of their scientific work (academic degree and rank, research interests);

  • In the beginning of every article surname and initials of the author (authors), organizational affiliation(s), city, country, UDC-code, title of the article, summary (up to four sentences) in Ukrainian, Russian and English, with key-words. Following should be the text of the article. In articles it is obligatory to include a reference in square brackets on printed sources (8 and more), which are listed after a word "Literature", in order of referencing in the text or in alphabetic order. Graphic materials and photographs should be given in separate files in formats *.tif, *.pcx, *.bmp, *.cdr. Formulas are done separate line by means of Equation MS. Diagrams - by means of Columns MS.

Materials for Conference “Resource preservation and tribology” will be published in the international scientific journal “Problems of Tribology”.
